The Sunday Salon: Learning to Rescue Sea Turtles

Welcome! I'm happy you joined us here at the Sunday Salon. What is the Sunday Salon? The Sunday Salon is a place to link up and share what we have been doing during the week plus it's a great way to visit other blogs and join in the conversations going on there.

I'm at Padre Island National Seashore (Are you, like me, unfamiliar with the idea of a national seashore?) this weekend, and I am learning to rescue sea turtles. When I'm finished with the training, I will be part of the Sea Turtle Patrol that runs during the nesting season. We will be walking the Gulf, watching for sea turtles, especially endangered Kemp's Ridley turtles, coming ashore to lay their eggs.

What I Read Last Week:

Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens (Classics Club Spin)
The Real Wizard of Oz: The Life and Times of L. Frank Baum by Rebecca Loncraine (Bio)
Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz by L. Frank Baum (Ozathon)

What I'm Reading Now:

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
Cheerfulness by Garrison Keillor
Whatcha Mean What's a Zine? The Art of Making Zines and Mini-Comics by Mark Todd and Esther Pearl Watson

Here are the powerful picture books I read for 2024 Black History Month.
