Just about anything will make me pick up a book.

A recommendation from others.

An interesting title.

An interesting cover.

It's simple. If it is a book, I will pick it up.

The Flavor Thesaurus is a book I recently saw, sitting out on a table, at a local coffee shop.
I, of course, picked it up. The next thing you know, I asked the owner if I could borrow the book!
(Yes, I asked to take the book home with me. From a coffee shop.)
I took it home and liked it so much that I ordered my own copy from Amazon.
I know, I know. I'm obsessed.

Top Ten Tuesday was created by
The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together. Each Tuesday That Artsy Reader Girl assigns a topic and then post her top ten list that fits that topic. You’re more than welcome to join her and create your own top ten (or 2, 5, 20, etc.) list as well. Feel free to put a unique spin on the topic to make it work for you! Please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own post so that others know where to find more information.

  4. I love the variety in your GR tags, and I agree. Pretty much anything will make me pick up a book. It's hard to pass by one without at least checking it out to see if it might be of interest.

  5. If anyone I know is ranting or raving about a book, I am tempted to pick it up. I am also a sucker for a great cover. If the cover is great, it doesn't matter that it got horrible reviews I will still give it a go.

  6. I hate to admit how much a cover can influence me in picking up (or not) a book!
